Tip # 37 Get a JUMP on the Holidays!!!!!!

Good Morning Fall, Football, Cooler air and trees turning golden. All signs that fall is here. Most people usually want to spruce up their home before friends and family start descending upon them. Sometimes just a few main tips will help a good bit. Clean everything before replacing unless your carpet has worn paths and old vinyl has a torn place these my friends usually can not be repaired. See a professional before starting a project. Normally this will cost less in the end because they can save steps in the project, time and MONEY!!!!! Get started as soon as you can before the Holidays too. If you are in a hurry it usually will cost more. October is a great time to start.....So seek and you shall find. Tip#37 Start now not later......Fall is for Finishing....As Always FFP

Everyone will go home sick before me. The last piece of pie will go to someone else. The great black dress will be sold. The perfect sofa that I wanted will be out of stock. Yes, If you want something out of life speak up because you will not get it by setting back and being polite. Design it, Buy it, SPEAK UP before the WORLD passes by!!!! AS always, FFP

Tip # 35 Remember Color is everything!!!

Hello World, What's going on? Fall is here and people often get the urge to remake themselves or their home/surroundings!!! I have posted today a picture of a client's home that had beige carpet to start and even with colored walls it was a little bland. The contrast of a darker carpet made color, furniture and all look updated and fresh. Don't be afraid...You only live once and we never regret the things we did try only the things we are afraid to try.....Have guts !!!! Put some color on it....As Always, FFP

Tip #34 Don't be a Bore!!!!

Hello World, I know, I know grey is the new beige.....DON'T BELIEVE IT !!!! Grey can be a very cold color. If it has warm tones than it is not grey it is TAUPE!!!!! College did teach me something and I am soooo tired of People thinking because it is on the internet than it is true. Liking dating someone that says their a French model...Get a Grip. LOL!!!! Grey can be handsome correctly applied but tip # 34 ADD COLOR somewhere. Don't be a bore. Please don't think it is going to be warm because it is a cold color....Plain and simple!!!! Could you imagine all football teams in grey or what a pretty grey day!!! Does that make sense? GREY IS COLD!!!! OK, I have had my say and in the words of Forrest Gump "that's all I am going to say about that". Outdoors has so many beautiful colors that can be brought inside do not limit yourself. If in trouble seek a professional. Life is like a box of chocolates pick something besides grey!!! As Always, FFP

Tip # 32 Don't be Blue !!!!

Hi World, Don't let the economy make you afraid so you quit spending. You wouldn't believe the homes that I go in that really need work and the people have the money and are just AFRAID to make a move because of the way of things. All this does is instill more fear and it becomes a cycle. WAKE UP!!!! It is a way to control. Replace those floors that have holes in them. Chewed up blinds that have fallen down. Furniture that can no longer hold you up. Enjoy what you have because you can't take it with you. Love whenever it presents itself because it may not come around again. Buy because in this world economy we support each other. Don't be Blue be RED, WHITE and Blue support, America!!! Flag Waving FFP~~~

Tip #29 And I am behind...again But still moving forward.

Hi Ya'll, Designer with all the flooring you will ever need at her finger tips. With all the rain people are interested in moisture resistant floors. ivcus has a new luxury vinyl out and its name is "moduleo". It is a floor that provides protection against scuffs, stains and scratches. The question then is "What floor holds up against high heel shoes"? Tip #29: Moduleo offers the ultimate defense against these difficult wearing items and a Super Guard Stain warranty. WARNING: Nothing is 100% but when it comes to tough wear and moisture resistance this floor is the bomb. Residential 30 year warranty...Commercial 15 year...WoW!!! With all the rain we have had here in Augusta Ga this is the floor everyone needs it looks like real wood also. Come by 2825 Washington rd and view it. Thanks, Fancy Pants Pammy

Tip 28 And Don't Be Late!!!

Hello Crazy Wonderful Wacked Out World, Yes I am in a great mood. Don't be shocked, LOL, commercial jobs have picked up and houses have started to sell. It isn't gang busting but it will do for a start. Commercial question for the day. Should moisture test be ran on the foundation of every job. Tip # 28: If you sign a contract run the test...Keeps everyone out of court...I know the tests are expensive but they have different price ones and any will hold up legally. To avoid the mess run the test. Smile, our two weeks of rain is about to end. Happy designing!!! FFP

WeekEnd was GREAT!!! Monday Blues to get back in the Swing of things!!!! Tip # 27

Hey World, Take me out to the ball park....Went to a green jackets game for BNI best referral group in the world!!! They lost but good times were had by all. Fireworks were included too!!!!Whew hew!!!! Back to Monday everybody gets sick and leaves it up to FFP for the day!!!! Scary huh? Things happen just take it one bite at a time. A lady last week asked me a question about remodeling. If your kitchen floor needs to be replaced and you might want to replace cabinets two years from now should she do the floors now. HERE IS THE ONLY ANSWER: Do not live your life around an "I might do something". Tip # 27: Replace the floor in that kitchen and add an extra 5% so when you do move the cabinets you can repair the floor. If your flooring company can't do this come see us at Fogel's Fine Floors in Augusta Georgia because we do know how to insert pieces into floors and make them look great. Hope everyone has a great day!! Smile, FFP

Tip#26 POP the CORK !!!!!

Hello World, It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I had someone ask me about Cork floors. Are they durable? Pros and cons of Cork. Pros: It is beautiful and total renewable. Cork grows along the Mediterranean Sea and it is the bark of an Oak tree known as Quercua Suber. It is one of the more giving hard surfaces so seniors and children will not hurt themselves as easily. The floor is quiet and hypoallergenic. It is 100% natural which makes it a great look for any room. Con: The only thing that is a draw back is that it does scratch easier than other hard surfaces. The companies do put a finish on it that greatly helps. I have put it in clients kitchens and it still looks super. If you decide you love it don't be afraid just Cork it!!!! As Always, FFP

Tip 24 What is LVT?

Hello People, The sun is shinning and it is 70 outside....Let's play....Can't gotta quote a job of LVT. What is LVT? Luxury vinyl tile. It looks like wood or ceramic. Most people can not tell a difference. It can be used anywhere. Water will not seep through from topside. It can be used in homes or offices....Macy's has it....Many homes have it. Cleaning it is a breeze. Google earthwerks and then come by and see Pam for a test drive. Beautiful floors. Beautiful weather time to clean for spring. This product is not to be confused with sheet vinyl. It comes in planks or squares and installs like that. Time to spruce up. See Pam otherwise known as fancypantspammy at Fogels in Augusta Georgia. Home of the Augusta National....Home of the Peach.....As always, FFP

Tip #23 Blog IT!!!

Hey World, Joining this new Social Media age is a trick for some of us but I am not giving up yet. Tips from the designer...Today's topice Wallpaper....It damages walls..BUZZZZZZZ, that was my buzzer for WRONG answer....People hang wallpaper incorrectally and that is what damages walls. Personally I am tired of solid painted walls....GIVE them dimension people. We now have some dynomite murals for business's and homes that give them the extra punch that one needs. The answer is learn how to prime before you hang the paper and the future for paper in needed areas will be great. Needed areas being bathroom, kitchen, laundry etc. I as a designer am pro in explaining house plans but am learning how to blog and hold interest. If you are reading this I also have some flooring pictures and other design ideas on pinterest. Under same name. The fever of golf in the air here in Augusta last week compelled me to go to the driving range last night. Also having a handsome coach didn't hurt either. My short game needs some work but my drives made up for them. That one GOOD shot always brings you back. LOL. Have a great weekend and if you need a lift out of the blues dance it out. As always, FFP

After the Masters Tip# 22

Hi Ya'll, If you live in Augusta Georgia once the Masters is over it is a very quiet town a week later. So my tip this week is for all the local people....Quiet time is a very good time to get work on your house started and completed in a very short period. Remember when the kids get out of school for summer things tend to pick back up (which is next month)so go for the quiet time to renovate with the local designer you will get a more one-one experience. April showers bring May flowers.....Have a wonderful day...FPP

MASTER'S RUSH

Hello World, Yes it never fails Augusta preping for all the golf pros to come in for the glorious week of golf and several clients that need something updated before the house can be rented for the week come in the store ONLY one week ahead of time. I always say you are in luck my magic wand has a little magic left in it. Yes we are expected to do miracles without much help from the home owner. Fortunately we have a great back up team of floor installers to painters who make it seem like magic. The crowds move in the streets get busy with golf wantabees and people just out to have fun. They come from far and wide, North and South but mostly North!!! It is Augusta Georgia's fame week before it settles back in the dust to be the sleepy southern town that one would normally find. It is a mans week but some of us ladies love it too. Yes guys women do like to play golf also. I design the houses for the renters than I go play around somewhere. Wish that were true haven't played in awhile but do love it. This is a week like no other, bands play all over town that usually don't come in very often. Music and spring flowers are in the air. Yes, this is Augusta at its' best even if we are dusting the dust off of the new wood floor as the furniture for guest is being moved back in the room. Spring is here and The "Masters" home of the "Green Jacket". As always, FPP
