Where do we begin? Tip # Ten

Hi Everyone,

Don't know how writer's get constant ideas. Thank you God for giving me interior design. Fall is finally here to stay and it feels wonderful. Love the brilliant colors of golds, reds and browns. Whenever I don't have the words I can always work with color.

Had a lady this week working with a new house. "Where do I begin asked the lady"? Like Alice in Wonderland...You begin at the beginning.

Tip # Ten: Starting a new house be sure to know from your builder Who the subs are that he/she is using and their locations. Also make sure you know all the allowances for the products that you are choosing otherwise it can be a non-productive trip. You do not want to have to back track on every choice. It can get very frustrating if this occurs.

Have a Blessed day..FFP

Tip # Nine and I am so far behind !!!

Hi Ya'll,

Behind in work load that is known as a good thing. Just thought I would break into a little southern lingo. October with her beautiful colors fun sports and cooler weather is finally here...Thank you..Thank you...
Besides cooler weather business has gotten a little better. Maybe people feel like renovating whenever it's not sooooo hot!

Orange, bright golds, warm amber that is the look of fall. Going to Tennessee soon to help with a house on the river should see plenty of color on the trip. Let your light shine no matter of your circumstances that is my new motto. Joy is a choice....

Question: Which give a home more privacy blinds or shutters? Tip#9 : The privacy is about the same and light varancy coming in the window but if you have great amount of sun making the window hot you may need to have the windows tinted. However DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS YOURSELF let a professional do it. If not applied correctly it will peal within days.

Have a joy filled day!!!! FPP

Tip # 8 - Fall is knocking at the Gate!!!!

Hi Super Duper People,

O.K. I am getting to rhythmic in my titles but oh well it is my Blog. LOL. Fall is in the air. Doesn't it feel great. I love water sports but whenever fall gets here I am ready....Augusta's heat can make tempers flare so abound cool weather. I am afraid we haven't seen the last of the heat. Will enjoy the cool while it's here. Fall is do overs for sports teams that didn't make it big last year. A balancing act between hot and cold weather. Big blue skies with golds and browns of golden rod blooming.

You also have fall fashion in clothes and interiors....What are the fall trends for colors?
Tip # 8 Fall colors: Trends have a earth tone back ground with big splashes of brilliant brights...still a little of the seventies style with a big new twist is hanging in there also.

Just remember to put the trendy where you can change it pretty easily and least costly.

Have fun with it and enjoy life. It's the ride that counts. FPP

August is for Awful Hot.......Tip # 6

Hi Everyone,

August is sooooo Hot. I think you could fry an egg on the pavement. Have been really busy..Thank God.
Kids back in school so it is the most wonderful time of the year (love that commercial). Been working on some glass tile jobs. They are beautiful........

Customer asked me the other day will the tiles become dated...Tip # 6: If you use a natural color even if it is in a strange shape will keep it timely. I have one in the shop that is in the shape of a wave (cool thinking) anything to lower the temp a little.
Smile,

Is the Economy Strange or WHAT!!! Tip# 5 and I am still alive!!!

Hi Everyone,

It is HOT and everyone wants the most expensive product but they want it for free! Ha! Don't we all. When ever you really give customer service and work your heart out it gets very frustrating. I love my field and it keeps me going. I had a lovely customer remark to me this week that I loved my job and yes interior design is my hobby and my living so I am happy in these rough times that I still show that I love my career.

Hope everyone is having a great summer. I am ready for the beach haven't been there yet and I can smell the marsh and the coffee brewing at the Sunrise cafe on Tybee Island. Childhood memories need to get to the water.

Tip # 5 and I am still alive (Thanks to God)

How can you tell if a hardwood floor has had water damage? It will mildew and turn black or even a dark blue. Dark black is always a liquid....not just aging. Still alive because God promises us he will take care of us. A bad world economy is not God's economy. He can change anything!!!!!!!

Stand up for The Red, White and Blue. Tip # 4

Hello Out There,

I know some of you guys have been reading but no comments......Come on, ask away. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Took some needed time off back to the race of life. One thing that I noticed over the 4th that most people have gotten back to appreciate the soldiers serving Our country (which is wonderful). We all need to stand up for the Red, White and Blue.

I really admire the families of the soldiers too. They have to start their life over with every move and kids with schools this can be a tough time. Thanks ALL FOR SERVING YOUR COUNTRY.

TIP # 4
I was asked a question about self sticking tile..Is it good to use? Let me be clear about this; "NEVER" is it good to use. If you glue on top of it the glue will let go so nothing can be put over it. If you have it down it has to come up before installing any other floor.

P.S. Have had a few people correct my text on this Blog Thanks and you know that you are well loved.

Is it summer yet ? Tip # 3

Hi Everyone,

Swim suits, vacation time and drinks with lime that means it"s the good ole summertime. 103 temp. in June it is way to early for that kind of heat. We are all looking for an avenue to achieve some Bliss . Go to Fogel's face book page to get a quick fix. Our commercial is running this week on HGTV, the Food channel and cable channels. Teresa, Fogel's office manager has some witty info posted on the page.

I have been helping some clients renovate older houses. NOTE: You can NEVER make a old house brand new. You can make it beautiful but never new. It has character and that is it's charm. You always remember in renovation location is still the most important factor. I have heard an old saying that renovator's have  to have a short memory to be able to keep doing it. I think it's the awwwww factor at the end having flipped a couple myself.

Tip # 3 If you scratch a hardwood floor can you remove just the scar? The only way to remove the scratch is to refinish the hardwood and all hardwood areas touching. Otherwise the mess just spreads. Stay Cool, FPP

Living In a Bliss kind of World!!!!!! Tip#2

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well in the outer realm. Living in the real world can be unsettling but thank goodness we can surround ourselves with beauty and softness. These treasures can be found in a new program called Bliss By Beaulieu.

The Bliss carpet program has a lifetime stain protection, Magic Fresh (which decomposes gases from the source of the odor) and scotchgard protection. We even have a commerical about this airing on some fablous T.V. shows know as HGTV, Food Channel etc. Oh and by the way if you think the designers on these shows renovated the rooms in 60 minutes, totally alone let me sell you some snow in June in Augusta GA. Ha! Back to the Bliss story, SoftSense carpet and Stainmaster are some in this line.

In a housing market which is desperate, homeowners are opting to renovate rather than losing their equity.
Just remember The three R's".....Renovate, Rejuvenate and Recover Your Equity. The Bliss Line can accomodate rental property to the house on the "National" (I golf too). Only guest cabins on the National;
to the none golfers that is where the "Masters" is played. Anyhow really nice carpet. Listen to the add starting June 20th lasting all week. Will give exact times later in the week.
Tip #2
I was asked a question on facebook. Should you tile over a brick fireplace or paint it? A painted finish on a fireplace changes the color and gives texture. Tile can present a problem so PAINT it. Just don't use it until next December because it is so hot I'm about to burst into flames......Have a cool day. FPP

The name fits and 1st tip.

I never knew when Raymond Beasley gave me that nickname in high school that it would be my future. My mother being a buyer for a department store always bought the salesmen samples for me to wear so I was fortunate to be able to dress up quite a bit. Dressing up so that friends gave me that nickname which became my future. I am an interior designer.. Thanks, Raymond. I wanted to start a blog to help people with their design problems so out of the gate I go.

I have been in the field for 25 years, yes I was ten whenever I started and I have a warped sense of humor.......you have to in this business. I have helped with hotels, offices and one room flats. Nothing is to small. I am in a service business and me with the company in which I work make this our number one priority.
I work at Fogel's Fine Floors in Augusta Georgia. To you girl's out there it is located on 2825 Washington rd.across from stein mart. To the guy's it's across from Hooters.
1st. Tip:
In this blog I am going to give answers to questions we are asked daily, o.k. at least weekly. Some of you who are born with the ability will already know the answers. Others may be saved some time by this and right now time can be money. If nothing else you might get a little smile out of my dry humor. Just remember joy does the heart good like medicine.

O.K Question for the day: Can you dye carpet? Answer: You can but 99.99% of the time it will not work
It may cause dye walk off too which could damage other flooring. If you are doing this after spilling bleach it absolutely will not work. Bleach takes the pigment out. Stay tuned for the secret about living in a Bliss kind of world. Have a great day!!!!! FPP
