Beautiful Day!!!!!!!
Hello World,
Weather is cooler...sun is shinning...and it is Friday!!! Yeah! If starting a fall project and you think by watching a T.V. show that it is easily accomplished BEWARE. Most of the time the show had 6 months to achieve this goal and a crew of at least six professionals. I know they make it look like a prepared person could do this in a week end. Ha!!!!Go ahead make my day!!!!If you plan it then work your plan be sure to add at least a couple of extra days unless you do this as a profession...So get those hammers out and lets start those put off projects. Have a great weekend. FFP

Beat It!!!! Tip# 20
Hello World,
I have a natural food store in the shopping center with Fogel's...Today I had one of my favorites...Crab and corn chowder. Now I am paying for it I am soooooo sleepy. Back to the designer tips and with the fun tips you have to have every day taking care tips also. My last one was about carpet cleaning and this one is about rug tips. Larger area rugs pull them outside hang over a clothes line. Find a tennis racket (old one of course) and Beat it. Yes beat it hard. It will get the dust out that vacuums will not pick up. Also remember that to clean according to carpet manufacturer specifications. Have a Great fall day!!!!!FFP

"Off with the shoes!"
Hi All,
Just got back from a BNI meeting. Great Group! Want to know about them call me 706-738-9703. Anyway to continue from yesterday...Vacuuming 101...If you vacuum everyday it will have the largest impact on your carpet and the breathing quality of your house....I know this is almost an impossibility but this what the manufacturer recommends. It will help prevent pile crushing also.Setting the vacuum height at the right level is also important and keeping a clean bag in it. The bag or container should be emptied when it is half full. Keep hoses and attachments free from obstructions. Your carpet should always be professional cleaned every 18 months. Clean air filters changed properly help. The more dust removed by the filter the less will fall in your carpet. Using mats at every main door reduces the amount of dirt that will enter your home. To save ware on your carpet take those shoes off!!!! Some families have a mudroom with a bench for easy on and off. Using common sense about every day activity HELPS make products last longer. Smile:)FFP

Top of The Day To Ya,
Yes. it's Friday, cool weather coming in and Football..Yes! O.K. an interior designer can like sports..Hope all is well in decorating land. If your life is like mine, I usually gets the customer during a major mistake... .Tip # 16: It is always less expensive to use a professional than to keep throwing money at a project gone bad.
Please call a professional BEFORE starting the project...make a plan then work your plan even if you have to do it in small stages. Small stages are better than BIG mistakes...Have a GREAT weekend..FFP

Tip # 15 Prefinished Wood!
Hi All,
Come one, come all to the beginning of fall. Hope everyone is having a ball with
this weather. Nice to see anything out of the 100 degrees....Here at Fogels in Augusta Georgia we sell pre-finished or refinished floors. One adds several layers of dust when installing and if a retail tells you otherwise remember this post. Pre-finished has less dust but the end butt joints are not going to be totally flat.
Tip # 15 is pre-finished wood has beveled joints. It can be a micro bevel or larger. This is not a defect it is intentional so as the wood expands and contracts one end will be level with the other. Clear as mud,LOL. See me (Pam) at Fogels and I will clear up the muddy view. We have a Mohawk SALE going on for the next two weeks and a treat for the kids by mentioning my blog. Yes, getting people to view anyway possible. Hope the end of your week goes well. Smile, FFP

P is for Porcelain !!!!
Good Day to you,
Okey Dokey Smokey, Everyone loves ceramic or porcelain.RIGHT?
Tip #14: Not all houses can support the weight of porcelain. If your house is on a crawl space you have to use a supporting board otherwise known as backer board. This can add to your weight load on the frame of the house. Some early 1900's can not have this product in the house.
Remember too in ceramic or porcelain you also have grout lines that have to be maintained. They can be sealed but they still collect dust which turns dark and can be very hard to clean. However porcelain is still the hardest of the two materials (ceramic/porcelain) and can be very easy to keep installed properly.
Their are some wood styles that are beautiful and have very small grout lines. Mohawk has some of the prettiest styles around....Take a look www.mohawkflooring.com Then choose Porcelain tile style: Marciano. Good Looking, Yes ?
Easy to look upon, Easy to keep!!!!
Indeed,

Continued From Finding the Fit !!
Hi Everyone,
Finding the right fit rather than having one. Yes it is Monday the first day of October.
Wow,where has time gone....It might be Monday but I choose JOY!!LOL!!!
Last week I spoke about finding the right designer. This week it is all about product.
Tip #13 What flooring should I use and where?
First: figure out your life style. If you have 6 kids and 3 animals running around, you do not need white carpet...O.K. laugh but their are a lot of people who would do it.
If you have Mr. Arthritis in your hands or wrists you do not need wood products in your kitchen. Cast Iron skillet and wood floors do not mix whenever you drop the pan.
Decide your needs than pick the product that suits.
Remember the term solution dyed when choosing carpet..Yes some people are still using it for the soft underfoot feeling or warmer bedroom areas.
I touched on wood and carpet so tomorrow it is "P" for porcelain.
Smile, FFP
